Field Grey collaborator and favourite Richard Quinn‘s rise to fame has been phenomenally fast. In February 2018, he was the first fashion designer to get Queen Elizabeth II along to London Fashion Week in her 66-year reign. He is the talk of the proverbial town, with fashion fans and celebrities alike desperate to get their hands on his dazzling designs. His floral prints have captivated audiences across the globe.
We collobarated with Richard on our recent Principal London project. He designed two bespoke floral prints for the hotel, put to use on a shirt and dress. The results wowed the client and customers at the venue’s Fitz’s Bar.
We know Richard has our approval, and the royal seal of approval, but who else is a fan? Here we take a look at Quinn’s burgeoning celebrity fan base:
The Other Queen chose Richard Quinn’s designs as part of the monumental films that accompanied her On the Run II world tour with husband, Jay-Z. In one scene, Mrs Carter wears a full Quinn number with matching gloves.
Rachel Shenton (Richard Quinn X Debenhams)
Ex-Hollyoaks actress and Academy Award winner Rachel Shenton was chosen as the face of the recent Debenhams/Richard Quinn collaboration. Shenton modelled a number of dresses designed especially for the department store by Quinn, appearing on magazine front covers in the designs.
If Queen Elizabeth II at your fashion show isn’t enough to garner attention, then a bonafide style star wearing your creations at the Met Gala surely will. At the 2018 event at the Metropolitan Museum of Art New York, Amal wore Quinn trousers with a lavish, metallic train featuring illustrated red roses.
Actress Thandie Newton chose a Quinn design to wear to the BAFTA TV Awards earlier this year. The ruched number was part of the designer’s ‘Balmoral’ collection shown to the Queen, as modelled by…
Adwoa Aboah is a huge Richard Quinn fan, by all accounts. The British model walked in Quinn’s seminal AW18 show and has been seen on the red carpet wearing the designer’s creations, more than once.
London’s fashion queen and style hero Susanna Lau (aka Style Bubble) has banged Quinn’s proverbial drum since he was the recipient of the H&M Design Award in 2017. She often style’s his looks with other vibrant designs from other famous fashion designers.
Giovanna Battaglia Engelbert
The Italian fashion editor chose this iconic Richard Quinn design for the British Fashion Awards 2017.
For her ‘Joanne’ world tour, Lady Gaga chose a number of Quinn’s designs. Our favourite was the black top with signature rose print sleeve, worn with a wild tulle ballgown skirt.
