Field Grey Behind the Scenes: Portraits Shoot

26.07.2017

On Friday last week, we coordinated one of our seasonal portrait shoots. A Field Grey staple, when we launch a project we like to see our uniforms in action and meet some of the teams wearing our designs.

Over the years we’ve been very lucky to meet some fabulous people who make our clients’ businesses what they are, providing hospitality and service across the city.

Field Grey Photographer Lennie Mason braved the crowds at Borough Market with Tapas Brindisa, scaled the heights at German Gymnasium, and braved the bushes at Allpress Dalston.

We had an early start at Allpress Dalston, for whom we designed a range of bespoke aprons worn across their numerous branches. Field Grey’s Randolph accompanied Lennie and was on hand for styling and direction. The London Roastery store is the company’s flagship, set over two fantastic floors on Dalston Lane – you can see our tour of the venue here.

At Allpress we met a whole host of service staff and took portraits across the venue and in their glorious garden.

Next up, the team hot-footed to Tapas Brindisa on Southwark Street. For Tapas Brindisa, Field Grey were commissioned to design a range of half aprons and polo shirts for the Spanish star of London’s restaurant scene. The project was inspired by the subtle interiors of Brindisa – the warm colours of the decor, rich tones of Rioja and the colours of the numerous tapas dishes Brindisa serve. Lennie took numerous portraits of staff throughout at Borough as visitors flooded the market – we’re really looking forward to the results!

Our final photocall was with our friends at German Gymnasium at King’s Cross. Various staff showcased the wide range of uniform in what was one of our largest projects to date – from monochrome dresses to doorman coats. It’s difficult not to take a good photograph in officially the world’s most beautiful restaurant, and again, we can’t wait to see the results.

We’ll feature the results of our photo shoots on the blog and website very soon, so keep an eye out!
