A couple of weeks ago, Field Grey paid a visit to the breathtaking Hilton London Syon Park to see our recently launched uniform project in action.
Hilton London Syon Park is set amongst the breathtaking two-hundred acre Syon House estate, which was the country home of the Duke of Northumberland for 400 years. It provides an oasis of calm away from the city (even though it is only a stone’s throw away) and affords spectacular views of nature.
The hotel features a variety of guest rooms and suites, and boasts two restaurants – the Syon Lounge, a combination of sushi and shisha, under the creative direction of chef Julieus Diasz; and Marco Pierre White’s steakhouse, bar and grill. Sandwiched between the two is the hotel’s bar, for which Field Grey designed a uniform solution.
The Bar combines innovative design with the best of British. Its classic cocktails honour the legacy of its elegant setting amongst the grounds of Syon House. Even on a week night, the bar is a vibrant hive of activity indoors and out. Cosy nooks provide respite for for guests who prefer a quieter evening. The atmosphere spills onto the terrace and outdoor bar, complete with exotic cabanas, where guests can enjoy cocktails and al fresco light bites.
Field Grey were approached to create a bespoke uniform and we were inspired by the interiors and the terrace, in particular the colours of the olive trees and giant bonsai tree that takes centre stage – the oldest bonsai tree in Europe!
We have designed a bespoke subtle-striped bib shirt and a bespoke olive waist apron with silver eyelets and black herringbone ties. This will be teamed with a straw hat to protect the team from the sun during the summer months.
Below is a gallery of the development of the project, from initial inspiration through to sketches of the final designs. Enjoy!
