Home House Uniform Design: Research & Development

05.01.2017

In December we launched our bespoke tailoring solution for Home House, the private members club in Portman Square. Here we take a look back at the design and development process.

Set across three Georgian townhouses, the club boasts opulent Neoclassical design paired with a cheeky and vibrant personality; a truly unique London experience that required a truly unique uniform solution.

Tailoring

Bespoke tailoring with a twist was a key focus. We sourced luxurious wool blends in houndstooth and micro checks to give a heritage feel, offset with hints of cobalt blue. A combination of single and double breasted cuts combined with a soft tapered leg create a distinctive and contemporary look.

Digital Print

Embracing the era of the houses’ conception, we initially explored broach and cameo designs, creating a range of repeat digital prints influenced by the ornate wallpapers found throughout the club.

Inspired by the Georgian interiors, our final print incorporated the 18th century mouldings of the grand staircase in House 21, creating a contemporary placement print reflective of the Neoclassical heritage. Our specialist textile printer based in Nottingham captured our final print passing through the press before being shipped out to our UK manufacturer.

Embellishment

Alongside classic tailoring we explored contemporary interpretations of embellishment to give the uniform a distinctive talking point, referencing Gucci and Stella McCartney SS16 collections.

Cedric, the Houses’ mascot was the perfect emblem to adorn the uniform. Hand embroidered with metallic threads, the crest was the crowning jewel on our bespoke solution.
