This week London College of Fashion unveiled a project with Adidas that challenges the modern day norms of workwear. Five professions: firefighter, engineer, flight attendant, chef and doctor get a fashion overhaul.
Students Leighton Tian Tzouh Lee, Tommy Linberheim, Jia Liu, Soon Yong Kim, and Helen Yeung Wui Yuk from the LCF menswear programme have created looks inspired by popular vocations, giving them a fresh and stylish outlook. The needs of each occupational uniform have been catered for through key workwear details (pockets, zip fastenings, protective layers) but a colour palette of pastel greens, pinks and blues and exaggerated silhouettes make this a workwear collection like nothing we’ve seen before.
Each look fuses sportswear with contrasting materials and modernist shapes. Imagine if the occupations catered for wore outfits like this? Wonderful.
