Metals and metallic finishes shone at London Design Fair this year. Below are a few of the finishes that stood out. The drama of metal against wood, in particular, echoed Field Grey’s use of metalwork on apron eyelets and the leather accessories that are such a fundamental part of our new Readywear range.
Origins Project were showing an incredible ‘Heavy Bench’, which combines old oak and highly polished copper. Liga Studio, by Matthieu Muller and Pierre Alexandre Cesbron, showed a range of metal storage boxes with colour-shifting finishes. Caino Designs exhibited exquisite fretted metal panels and screens as part of the Made in Piemonte Super Brands stand. Studio Truly Truly showed their ‘Daze Tables’, built up out of architectural volumes with subtle slits that let colours float through.
Readywear is Field Grey’s new capsule collection of 36 key workwear garments which we have been busy launching at London Design Fair. Our experience in crafting bespoke uniform solutions has been distilled to create this new collection of ready-to-wear uniform essentials: aprons, utility jackets, waistcoats, chinos and spa trousers, shirts, tunic tops and pinafores, and a range of accessories. Designed for both small and large businesses, the collection responds to the demand for a design aesthetic that is modern and practical. Importantly, the range can be branded and customised to support multiple brand environments. The collection is offered in a core palette, which adapts seamlessly to create an individual solution.
London Design Fair is open to trade visitors 21-24 September and to the general public 23-24 September only. You can see Readywaer at stand M05 in Hall T3-C of The Old Truman Brewery, located in the heart of East London. http://www.londondesignfair.co.uk/visit
