Nathalie du Pasquier needs no introduction. The Memphis Group’s co-founder, and youngest member, du Pasquier produced some of the most famous prints and patterns in the history of design. When the Group dissolved in 1987, she left design behind to concentrate on art and sculpture. The Group’s enduring legacy, as relevant now as it ever has been, has meant du Pasquier has made a triumphant return to print, with collaborations with Hay and American Apparel and a new book, Don’t Take These Drawings Seriously (1981—1987).
As a constant source of inspiration, the Cooper Hewitt gallery archives its entire collection online. In a Memphis state of mind, we’ve selected our top ten du Pasquier productions. Here they are, in no particular order.
