Renowned British art gallery Turner Contemporary invited Field Grey to develop a range of uniform solutions for its staff. The solution needed to take into account the fact that the gallery maintains a strict temperature level in order to preserve its artwork, as excessive temperatures can cause damage to paintings.Approach / Uniforms were required for the gallery’s navigation and cleaning staff, with navy selected as the base colour. A selection of long and short-sleeved T-shirts were printed with the distinctive branding of the gallery and paired with bespoke enamel badges in a variety of colour ways. To combat the gallery’s cool temperatures, navy gilets were included to keep the staff toasty.
Turner Contemporary / Turner Contemporary is a dynamic visual art gallery based in Margate that celebrates JMW Turner’s links with the seaside town. Designed by RIBA Stirling Prize-winning architect David Chipperfield, the gallery is a fine example of destination architecture.
